Pakistan win toss and elect to bat first in Adelaide
Australia have won the toss and elected to bat first in the day-night Test in Adelaide.
The match is the first of the two-Test series between the two sides.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam said he would have bowled first if he had won the toss, but he was confident his team could get a big score on the board.
"We have a good batting line-up and we are confident we can score runs on this wicket," Azam said.
Australia captain Pat Cummins said he was happy to bat first and put a big score on the board.
"We know it's going to be a tough challenge, but we are confident we can get the job done," Cummins said.
The match is the first Test match to be played in Adelaide since the 2019 Ashes series.
The last time Pakistan toured Australia, they lost the Test series 3-0.
However, Azam said his team was a different proposition now and they were confident they could win the series.
"We have a lot of young players in our team who are hungry for success," Azam said.
"We are confident we can win this series and we are going to give it our all."
