Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman has demanded a ban on online rummy in Tamil Nadu. He said that online rummy is causing huge losses to families and affecting the lives of youth.
"Online rummy is ruining the lives of youth and causing huge losses to families. I have been receiving a lot of complaints from people who have been affected by this menace. Therefore, I demand that the government impose a complete ban on online rummy," said Seeman.
Seeman's demand comes as a welcome move to many who have been affected by the menace of online rummy. In recent months, there have been several reports of people losing large sums of money to online rummy. Some have even lost their homes and families due to their addiction to online rummy.
The DMK, which is currently in power in Tamil Nadu, has promised to ban online rummy in its election manifesto if voted back to power. The AIADMK, which is the main opposition party in the state, has not yet made any statement on its stand on online rummy.
