Ian Healy rips Aussie batters as Marnus Labuschagne cops backlash amid Pat Cummins heroics
Healy slams Aussie batters for 'brain farts'
Former wicketkeeper Ian Healy has slammed Australia's batters for their "brain farts" after they were bowled out for just 151 on the opening day of the second Test against India in Delhi.
Healy said the batters showed a lack of discipline and application, and were guilty of making the same mistakes over and over again.
"I'm not sure what the answer is, but we've got to find a way to get better," Healy said. "We can't keep making the same mistakes over and over again."
Labuschagne cops backlash for slow batting
Marnus Labuschagne has come under fire for his slow batting in the second Test against India.
Labuschagne scored just 18 runs off 74 balls in Australia's first innings, and his innings was criticised by former players and commentators.
Some critics said Labuschagne was too slow and cautious, and that he was not scoring runs quickly enough to put pressure on the Indian bowlers.
Cummins heroics not enough to save Australia
Pat Cummins produced a brilliant bowling performance on the opening day of the second Test against India, but it was not enough to save Australia from a heavy defeat.
Cummins took 5-34 as India were bowled out for 262 in their first innings, but Australia's batters were unable to capitalise on his efforts.
Australia were bowled out for just 151 in their first innings, and they now face an uphill battle to save the match.
