Wrexham Will Not be Distracted by Derby 'Hype'

Dragons' focused on the task ahead

Wrexham assistant manager, Andy Davies insists that the Dragons will not be distracted by the upcoming derby hype against Chesterfield.

'We're Just Preparing For The Next Game'

With the National League season set to begin next weekend, Davies stressed that the team’s main goal is achieving promotion, and everything else is irrelevant. "We are not concerned with the hype around the derby," Davies said. "Our focus is on preparing for our next game."

“We are fully aware of what a big game it is going to be, but we are not letting it distract us from our main objective which is to win promotion. We are just preparing for the next game, and we’ll take it from there.”

After a successful preseason campaign that saw Wrexham win five of their seven friendlies, Davies believes that the team is raring to go for the new season.

“The lads have been excellent in preseason,” Davies said. “We are gradually getting to where we want to be. We are still not at our best, but we are getting there.”

Wrexham will begin their National League campaign at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, August 6th.
