'We won't be bullied': Young Jets to let actions do their talking

Sydney attack has brought club together

The Sydney Jets have regrouped after a physical attack forced the cancellation of their friendly with Sydney FC last week.

‘A great bonding session’

Jets coach Arthur Papas said the team had been through a lot over the past week, but said they were ready to let their football do the talking.

“We had a really good training session on Thursday night, which was a great bonding session for us,” Papas said.

"We’ve got a young group, and they’re all really excited to get out there and show what they can do.”

Impressed by response

Papas said he was impressed by the way his players had responded to the adversity they had faced.

“They’ve shown a lot of character and resilience,” he said.

"They’re determined to prove that they’re not going to be bullied.”

History of good sportsmanship

The Jets have a history of good sportsmanship, and Papas said he was confident that they would continue to represent the club in a positive way.

“We’re a family club, and we’re all about respect,” he said.

"We’re not going to let anyone bully us, and we’re going to show that we’re a force to be reckoned with.”

Excited for the season

The Jets will open their A-League season against the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday night, and Papas said he was excited about the team’s prospects.

“We’ve got a good squad, and we’re ready to challenge for the championship,” he said.
