Maharashtra: PM Modi to Inaugurate Two Metro Lines in Mumbai on January 19

Mumbai, January 18, 2023:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two new metro lines in Mumbai on January 19, 2023. The two new Metro lines will be the Aqua Line (Line 1) and the Orange Line (Line 2 of Metro). The Aqua Line will run from Metro Andheri to Dahisar, while the Orange Line will run from Bandra Kurla Complex to the Mumbai International Airport.

Aqua Line (Line 1):

The Aqua Line is a 19.5 km long line with 18 stations. It is expected to carry around 6 lakh passengers per day. The line will connect the western suburbs of Andheri, Goregaon, and Dahisar with the international airport. The Aqua Line is expected to reduce travel time between Andheri and Dahisar by up to 45 minutes.

Orange Line (Line 2):

The Orange Line is a 3.2 km long line with 5 stations. It is expected to carry around 3 lakh passengers per day. The line will connect the Bandra Kurla Complex with the Mumbai International Airport. The Orange Line is expected to reduce travel time between BKC and the airport by up to 20 minutes.

The inauguration of the two new metro lines is a significant milestone in the development of Mumbai's public transportation system. The new lines will improve connectivity between different parts of the city and make it easier for commuters to travel.
