Former cricketer calls THESE two players ‘burden’ on Pakistan squad
Pakistan’s performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023 was nothing short of disappointing, finishing a dismal fifth among six teams.
Former cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has criticized the team’s selection, calling out two players in particular for being a “burden” on the squad.
Tanvir named Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah as the two players who he believes are not up to the international standard and should be dropped from the team.
“I think Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah are a burden on the team,” Tanvir said. “They are not performing and they are not contributing to the team’s success.”
Tanvir’s comments come after Pakistan’s dismal performance in the Asia Cup, where they lost all three of their Super 4 matches.
Asif Ali, a hard-hitting batter, has been a regular member of the Pakistan team for several years.
However, he has struggled for form in recent times, and his performance in the Asia Cup was particularly poor, scoring only 24 runs in three matches.
Khushdil Shah, an all-rounder, has also been a regular member of the Pakistan team in recent years.
However, he too has struggled for form, and his performance in the Asia Cup was also disappointing, scoring only 16 runs and taking only one wicket in three matches.
Tanvir’s comments have sparked a debate on social media, with many fans agreeing with his assessment.
However, some fans have also defended Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah, saying that they are still valuable members of the team.
It remains to be seen whether the selectors will take Tanvir’s comments into consideration when they select the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
