Civil Defense warns of thunderstorms hitting most Saudi regions until Saturday

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has issued a warning about thunderstorms that are expected to hit most regions of the Kingdom until Saturday. The directorate has urged citizens and residents to take precautions and stay informed about the weather conditions in their areas.

• If you must go outside, wear rubber-soled shoes and avoid touching metal objects.
• Do not swim or wade in floodwaters.

• If you see a downed power line, stay away from it and call the authorities.
• If you are in a car, pull over to the side of the road and stay inside until the storm passes.

The Civil Defense also advises people to stay away from low-lying areas and areas near water bodies during thunderstorms. Motorists are urged to be cautious while driving in wet conditions and to avoid crossing flooded roads.
